OBIT CARTER, JOSEPHINE LEGRAND

CARTER, Josephine LeGrand, of Roanoke, died Sunday, April 11, 1993. She was very active in area Garden Clubs and was a member of Grandin Court Baptist Church. Surviving is her husband, Robert Lyle Carter; two sisters, Mrs. Lucy Furney, Clearwater, Fla., Mrs. Elizabeth Yeakley, Richmond; three brothers, Thomas E. LeGrand, Walter H. LeGrand, both of Appomattox; Alfred A. LeGrand, Boydton; eight nieces and nephews. Services will be from Oakey's South Chapel at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 14, 1993. The Rev. Robert M. Hamner and the Rev. Carol Johnston will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel after 12 noon Tuesday where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m.
