PULASKI MAIN ST. PLANS JUNE CONCERT
An evening of music with Pulaski's own June Draper is being planned for 7 to 11 p.m. June 12 at Pulaski Middle School by Pulaski Main Street Inc.Draper, a recording artist and song writer who has performed on television and in Hollywood, will headline a wide range of performers.
Advance tickets available from Main Street merchants are $5, with children under 12 admitted free. Tickets at the door will be $6.
Other performers include James Lindsey and the Mountain Ramblers, bluegrass recording artists from Galax; Jim and Artie Marshal, Hillsville musicians who play traditional folk and original mountain music; Reva Banks and Country Folk, award-winning recording artists from Fancy Gap; Jim Elliott and the Virginia Drifters, who will perform songs from their latest cassettes of bluegrass, country and traditional music; the Hemrick Family Singers from Rural Hall, N.C., who have performed mountain and traditional music for the Blue Ridge Music Association and throughout many states, and the Omega IV, another bluegrass band.
Fans will be able to buy records and tapes by the various artists at the show.
