MARTINSVILLE, HENRY GET ECONOMIC BOOST
Martinsville and Henry County have been jointly recertified as being prepared for economic development, the governor's office announced Wednesday.The certification program, administered by the state Department of Economic Development, helps communities become more competitive in attracting industry.
Since the Martinsville-Henry County area was certified in 1988, the community has attracted 13 new employers and about 400 jobs. One of the largest new companies, Owens-Corning Fiberglass, moved to a publicly owned shell building in the Martinsville Industrial Park.
