WEALTH IS A RELATIVE THING
I WOULD like to respond to the March 16 letter by a couple from Huddleston. They asked what right did President Clinton have to characterize a retired couple with $32,000 income as "wealthy"?Well, I personally know a lot of couples who have an annual income of only $15,000, are raising a family and perhaps have a lot more expenses than a retired couple. Suffice to say if these couples had their annual incomes doubled, they would feel a lot "wealthier."
At least Clinton is trying to help this country climb out of its economic woes. He is not just sitting back doing nothing, while letting the deficit overflow like it has done for the past 12 years. DAISY SCOTT LEXINGTON
