OBIT POWERS, S.E.

POWERS, S.E., 102, of Chilhowie, died at his home, Sunday, April 18, 1993. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War I and a member of the Francis Marion VFW Post #4667, Marion. Survivors include one son, Garney R. Powers, Marion; four daughters, Vergie P. Dungan, Irene Rouse, both of Marion, Ruth Sullivan, Bel Aire, Md., Catherine Williams, Sugar Grove; one sister, Vena Eller, Waldorf, Md.; 20 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Virgil S. Blevins and Rev. Charles E. Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle Fork Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post #4667. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Williams Funeral Home.
