The board represents Montgomery, Pulaski, and Floyd counties and Radford.
The board will hear from consumers to help set priorities to meet the service needs of people with disabilities. The board must prepare a needs assessment for the region by June 1.
The state has identified 12 service areas for specific study that will be the focus of the report. They are assistive technology, counseling, employment, housing, medical and therapeutic, training, education, case management, family support, transportation, personal assistance and independent living.
Consumers and advocates may speak at the hearing. Speakers should limit remarks to three minutes.
