OBIT CARTER, STEWART WESLEY
CARTER, Stewart Wesley, 67, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, April 18, 1993.
He was a veteran of World War II (Army Corps of Engineers) and a member of the
VFW, DAV, AMVETS, and the Hollins Moose Lodge. Surviving are his wife,
Margaret Wright Carter; a daughter and a son-in-law, Kaye C. and Scott C.
Gregory; two grandchildren, Alicia M. Gregory, Stewart S. Gregory; two
brothers, Carl C. Carter, Francis B. Carter, all of Roanoke; a sister, Lois
Windel, Elliston; and four devoted friends, Evelyn Ayers, Vickie St.Clair,
Deborah Smith, and Jerry Satterwhite. Funeral services will be conducted at
noon Wednesday, from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Dr. F. Tupper Garden
officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Sherwood Burial
Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society (P.O.
Box 554, Roanoke, VA 24003-0554). Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel
where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
