OBIT STUMPP, CHARLES LOUIS
STUMPP, Charles Louis, who had been living at Friendship Manor in Roanoke,
died Thursday, April 15, 1993, and was cremated on April 16, 1993. He was born
in New York City in 1912, where he obtained a degree in chemical engineering
from the Institute of Technology of the Cooper Union. During the second World
War, he served with the 87th Chemical Mortar Battalion, earning five campaign
stars in Europe. Following the war, he and his wife, Virginia, came to
Covington where he worked for Westvaco for 31 years in various capacities. He
was a life long member of the Covington Lions Club and following retirement
from Westvaco gave freely of his time to various organizations. Mrs.
Stumpppreceded him in death in 1986. Arrangements were handled by Loving
Funeral Home, Covington
