OBIT ANDERSON, SHERMAN PHIPPS
ANDERSON, Sherman Phipps, 84, of Mouth of Wilson, Va., passed away Tuesday,
April 20, 1993, at Twin County Community Hospital, Galax, Va. He was born
October 31, 1908 at Fox, Va. to Adolphus and Verna Phipps Anderson. He was a
life long farmer and a member of Young's Chapel Baptist Church. Surviving are
his wife, Mildred Carson Anderson; daughter, Ellen Suits, Marion, Va.; three
sons, George Anderson, Lewis Anderson, both of Richmond, Va., Ray Anderson,
Marion, Va.; two sisters, Hazel Rehbock, Washington, D. C., Joanna Cooper,
Arlington, Va.; four grandchildren also survive. Funeral service will be
conducted Thursday, April 22, 1993 at 2 p.m. in Young's Chapel Baptist Church
with Rev. Hal Eaton officiating. Interment in the church cemetery. The body
will remain at the Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Independence, Va. and will
be taken to the church thirty minutes preceding funeral service. The family
will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday night from 7 until 9.
Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Rugby
Rescue Squad. Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, Va., is in charge
of arrangements.
