OBIT THOMPSON, GOLD VALENTINE

THOMPSON, Gold Valentine, 83, of West Main Street, Christiansburg, died Wednesday, April 21, 1993, at his home. He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Thompson; and is survived by his wife, Irene Lucas Thompson; a son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Faye Thompson of Riner; daughters and sons-in-law, Corrine and Harold Vaughan of Riner, Betty and C. B. Linkous, Christiansburg, Winki and Bud Akers, Christiansburg, Mary Jones, Christiansburg; one brother, Hassell Thompson, Christiansburg; six sisters, Edith Brammer, Opal Wirt, Aleen Wade, all of Christiansburg, Myrtle Mitchell, Blacksburg, Evia Bishop, Riner and Mary Pugh, Roanoke; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday from the Richardson-Horne Chapel, conducted by Elder Willard Cox with burial in the Thompson Family Cemetery, Floyd County. Friends may call Thursday and Friday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg; and the family will receive friends there from 7 until 9 Thursday evening.
