VAUGHAN TO HEAD HOSPITAL'S BOARD

John Vaughan has been appointed chairman of Community Hospital's board of directors.

Vaughan, a member of the board since 1973, had been serving as vice chairman.

He also is on the board of Carilion Health System.

Vaughan retired as Appalachian Power Co.'s president and chief operating officer in 1989.
