OBIT-CHAFIN, RUDELL WINSTON

CHAFIN, Rudell Winston, 85, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, April 22, 1993, in Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was a retired employee of the Lynchburg Foundry and a member of Sidney United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by a sister, Irene Chafin; and a brother, Roscoe Chafin, he is survived by his wife, Ileda Sowers Chafin; a daughter, Gayle L. Hall, Shawsville; one son, Robert W. Chafin, Charlottesville; four sisters, Geneieve Jones, Salem, Edith Scaggs, Pulaski, Mary Poff, Pilot, Nelsie Kupersmith, Woodbridge; one brother, Eugene Chafin, Blacksburg; one granddaughter, Melissa Good; one grandson, Timmy Chafin; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Chafin. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday from the Richardson-Horne Chapel conducted by Rev. Walt Simmerman with burial in Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
