OBIT-MURDEN, WALTER LYHNELLE

MURDEN, Walter Lyhnelle, of 822 Soundview Drive, Hampstead, N.C., died Thursday, April 22, 1993, at his residence. He was born in Ocean View, Virginia on September 21, 1908, the son of the late George Walter and Gertie Mae Brown Murden, and was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Nell Crawford Murden. Mr. Murden was a very active member of the Hampstead United Methodist Church. Surviving are his daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Dickins and Mrs. June Blick, both of Wilmington, N.C.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 24, 1993, in the Hampstead United Methodist Church by Rev. Bruce Stanley and Rev. Francis Daniel. Interment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be the grandsons of Mr. Murden. The family will receive friends on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. in Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 810 Princess Street, Wilmington, N.C. 28401.
