Wagner (5-2), who allowed only one walk, is 13 strikeouts away from breaking the all-time Division III career record of 313 set by Phil DiAngelo of Widener from 1981-84. The senior from Tannersville has two regular-season games left and the NCAA regional playoffs.
Ferrum (20-7 overall, 9-3 Dixie) will at least share the Dixie Conference title. Mike Mitchell homered and went 2-for-4 with two RBI for the Panthers. David Jones also was 2-for-4.

Maryland senior Scott McMahon scored a game-high three goals, including the game winner one minute, 19 seconds into overtime, to lead the Terrapins to a 9-8 upset of top-seeded Virginia in the semifinals of the ACC men's lacrosse tournament at College Park, Md.
Maryland (3-4) advances to Sunday's championship game. The Terps face top-ranked North Carolina, which defeated Duke 13-6 in the other semifinal.
Maryland led 8-6 when Virginia's Chris Driggs and Drew Fox each scored goals to tie the game with 1:04 left. While both teams had posessions in the final minute, neither could get a good shot at goal, setting up the sudden death overtime.
Driggs, Fox and Tony Nugent each scored two goals for the Cavaliers (7-3).
Virginia goalie James Ireland made 21 saves and his Maryland counterpart, Matt Back, set an ACC tournament record with 25 saves.
Virginia defeated Wake Forest 5-2 in the first round of the women's ACC tennis tournament in Charlotte, N.C. The Cavaliers, ranked 23rd in the country, advance to play fourth-ranked Duke in the semifinals today. Singles winners for Virginia on Friday were Jen Callen, Taylor Holden, Alison Cohen and Whitney Sharp. Leigh Buchart and Sharp clinched the match with a 7-6 (12-10), 6-1 doubles victory.
Washington and Lee had five of six singles players and all three doubles teams advance to the semifinal round at the Old Dominion Athletic Conference women's tennis championships at Sweet Briar. Marilyn Baker, Julie Ayers, Shelley Sunderman, Helen Chandler and Leslie Copeland all posted singles victories.
Washington and Lee advanced the finals in eight of the nine flights and took a commanding lead in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference men's tennis championships at Lexington.
Top-ranked Georgia Tech fired a 294 and grabbed a five-stroke lead over Charleston in the first round of the Cavalier Classic golf tournament at windy Birdwood Golf Club in Charlottesville.
Other state scores saw host Virginia shoot 307 for a ninth place tie ahead of 11th-place Old Dominion (311) and 12th-place Virginia Tech (312). Richmond had a 320 and Liberty a 323.
Georgia Tech's Stewart Clink had a 4-under-par 68 to take a five-stroke lead among the individuals. He was the only golfer to equal or better par.
