LEAVE THE ROCKET WHERE IT LANDED

IN REFERENCE to Ed Shamy's March 24 column regarding the Wasena Park rocket:

Please leave the rocket alone. Why move it? You could do some really good things with the money that it would take to move it.

For those who were born and have grown up in Roanoke, that rocket has been here for them to see for 28 years. If you move it, what is the use of having landmarks and traditions? If it is placed in front of Addison, it will stand for a school, not a city that loves it dearly. Also, it will get torn up if it's placed in front of the school.

So, in the words of Michael Jackson's song, "Just Leave Me Alone." TODD ST.CLAIR ROANOKE
