The clinic, which will serve those who otherwise cannot afford medical treatment, was made possible by a $25,000 grant from Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Virginia and $15,000 in donations from the community.
In addition, 28 doctors, 43 nurses and 15 pharmacists have agreed to donate their services.
Dr. David Ellington of Lexington is coordinating the medical teams.
Lexington has donated an empty building on Main Street to the clinic corporation for its use for five years.
Bringing the clinic to reality was a real community effort, officials said.
Builders and craftspersons donated materials and time to refurbish the building, an architect donated design services, hospitals donated equipment and pharmaceutical companies gave medicine that will be used to treat patients.
