OBIT-AVERILL, WILLIAM JAMES, ("BILL")
AVERILL, William James, ("Bill"), 63, of Low Moor, died Thursday, April 29,
1993, at the Alleghany Regional Hospital. He was born in Low Moor on March 22,
1930, a son of Mrs. Alpha Via Averill of Low Moor and the late William
Anderson Averill Jr. He was a retired carman for CSX Transportation and a
member of Low Moor Presbyterian Church. In addition to his mother, he is
survived by his wife, Mrs. Doris Cronise Averill, Low Moor; two daughters,
Mrs. Timothy (Karen) Parker, Lumberton, N. C.; Mrs. Jody (Gina) Hoover,
Fincastle; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Judy Averill of Roanoke; two
brothers, Gene Allen Averill and Wayne Eben Averill, both of Low Moor; three
grandchildren, Kimberly Parker, Brandon Parker, Jacob Hoover; a number of
nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. Nicely
Funeral Home Chapel, Clifton Forge, with Dr. Bob Miles and the Rev. W.
Pembroke Hall officiating. Interment to follow in the Alleghany Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 to 8:30 at Nicely
Funeral Home.
