CLINTON THE GREAT PREVARICATOR

SLICK Willie, the liar, said that he would not raise taxes on the middle class to pay for his spending programs. Hardly a day goes by that we don't hear of another tax - pardon me, "investment in America" - proposed by the world-class liar occupying the White House.

He lied about defense cutbacks, by cutting more than he said he would. We will have a defense budget that is at a lower percentage of gross domestic product than it was at Pearl Harbor and will cost about 3 million jobs. This is from the liar who says he wants to put Americans back to work.

He wants to pattern our economy after those of welfare states like Germany and give us such critters as national health, which has failed everywhere else in the world.

It is ironic that Slick Willie is giving us a government emphatically rejected by the people of the former Soviet Union and Eastern Europe. His "caring" government daily erodes more of our freedom by increased regulations and other meddling.

He lied about his $16 billion "jobs bill." Almost $4 billion is to go for unemployment benefits. How many jobs does this create? He was willing to cut another $4 billion to get this bill through the Senate, showing that it was not a jobs bill but simply more pork barrel to increase our national debt. Since when has any country taxed and spent itself into prosperity?

Looks to me like we exchanged the Great Communicator (Reagan) for the Great Prevaricator (Clinton) and his unelected co-president Hillary Rob'em Clinton. DICK LAMBERT EAGLE ROCK
