FIREBAUGH-THOMPSON

Miss Elizabeth Dawn Thompson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Harvey Thompson of Covington, became the bride of Steven Craig Firebaugh, son of Mrs. John Carson Firebaugh and the late Mr. Firebaugh, on Saturday, May 8, 1993.

The Rev. William Gilliland performed the double ring ceremony at the First Christian Church, Covington, Va. The reception was held at the church.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of Victorian lace and chiffon over satin fashioned with a fitted bodice accented with pearls, three-quarter length bell sleeves and a full skirt. Her full length veil of illusion was trimmed with pearls and lace, and was held in place by a floral and pearl garland.

Melissa Carol Thompson of Covington, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Tina Thompson, Kim Thompson, Elisha Simmons, cousins of the bride, and Shelby Dickerson of Christiansburg.

Amanda Thompson, cousin of the bride, was flowergirl, and Benjamin Fey of Covington was ringbearer.

Christopher Stout of Columbia, S. C., served as best man. Ushers were Gene Thompson, the bride's uncle, Larry Linkous, Todd Suthers, and Shannon Coble of Charlotte, N. C.

The bride is a graduate of Covington High School and attended New River Community College where her major was child care. The groom is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. He is in management training for a local restaurant.

The couple will make their home in Roanoke.
