BOTETOURT TEEN DIES IN CRASH

A Botetourt County teen-ager died Friday night when the car she was riding in ran off the road and hit a tree.

Sue Ann Watts, 16, of Buchanan, died at the scene of the crash, state police said.

The accident happened about 10:30 p.m. Friday on Virginia 779 in southern Botetourt.

The car, driven by Candice R. Stinnett, was heading west on 779 near Virginia 756 when it ran off the right side of the road, state police said.

Stinnett was listed in satisfactory condition Saturday night in a regular hospital room at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
