MARTINSVILLE WOMAN MISS ROANOKE VALLEY

Gardner, 20, of Martinsville, Gardner won out over 11 other competitors from across the state. This was the first year the pageant, sponsored by the Roanoke Valley Educational Scholarship Board, had been open to participants outside the Roanoke Valley. The pageant is a preliminary to the Miss Virginia Pageant in July.

Gardner is a student at Hollins College.
