\ It's nice to know this column has at least one reader outside the schools. The Rev. BILL OLEWILER dropped off a note, along with a copy of the letter and information he sent to B.J. Bruck of Harlan, Iowa.

Bruck now knows who founded Christiansburg, how old the town is, what other towns are nearby, which way the New River runs and statistics regarding population, crime rate, farm net cash return and retail sales, among other things, thanks to Olewiler of Calvary, Garber Chapel and Park United Methodist churches.
