LPGA PLAYER REPRESENTING ROANOKE

Supporters of the Ronald McDonald House in Roanoke have an extra reason to follow golf this week as Donna Wilkins plays in the 13th McDonald's Championship LPGA tournament at DuPont Country Club in Wilmington, Del.

Wilkins will be among the golfers representing each of the 164 licensed Ronald McDonald Houses worldwide. Last year's tournament raised $2 million. The winner earns a $30,000 donation for the house she represents; $20,000 and $10,000 go to the second- and third-place finishers' houses, respectively.

Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families of seriously ill children being treated at nearby hospitals. The Roanoke Ronald McDonald House is located on South Jefferson Street.
