OBIT NICHOLS, R. HAROLD

NICHOLS, R. Harold, 81, of Roanoke, died Monday, May 10, 1993, in a local hospital. He was the widower of Rachael S. Nichols, was retired from Granite Memorials, Inc., a member of Central Church of the Brethren, and a member of the Knights of Pythias (Osceola Lodge). Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Richard S. and Connie F. Nichols, North Manchester, Ind.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Vicky N. and Gary C. Guenther, Silver Springs, Md., Aubrey S. and Jim Paull, Norwich, Vermont; six grandchildren, Erin, Cara, Christopher, Katherine, Evan, Alisha; a brother, Horace E. Nichols Jr., Connecticut; a sister, Opal Wilkerson, Roanoke; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday from Oakey's Roanoke Chapel with Rev. David A. Yingling officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Central Church of the Brethren (416 Church Ave., S.W., Roanoke, VA 24016). Friends may call after 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
