NAMES ON CAMPUS

KIMBERLY ANTOINETTE BOWIE of Blacksburg has received a master of science degree in higher education from Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa.

Emory & Henry College student MELISSA SUMNER of Christiansburg was featured in a voice recital April 18.

A first-year student, Sumner is a recipient of the Adrienne Arow Davis scholarship in voice.

Her parents are Dan and Sandra Sumner.

\ MELISSA SUMNER and SUZANNE SHELBURNE, also of Christiansburg and an Emory & Henry College student, have become members of the campus chapter of Alpha Phi Omega, a national service fraternity.

Each student completed 25 service hours, as well as interviews and weekly quizzes over eight weeks to become members.

Shelburne is the daughter of Richard and Janet Shelburne.

Joseph E. Hurn Scholarship winners from the New River Valley for the spring term at National Business College in Salem are TRACI KIRK of Christiansburg, PHILLIP MARTIN of Christiansburg, LINDA ROBERTS of Shawsville, SARAH SARTIN of Radford, SANDRA SLOANE of Copper Hill, DELORES SLOSS of Blacksburg, ANGELA DENISE TALLANT of Radford, THOMAS WEEKS of Radford, and BONNIE WOOLWINE of Christiansburg. KATHY WALTERS, a Wytheville student at

Concord College in Athens, W.Va., has been selected as the West Virginia student representative for the National Association for Campus Activities, Great Lakes Region.

She will represent all of the state's college students on the Great Lakes Regional Steering Committee.

Christiansburg resident KIM MATTOX, a freshman at Mattox Lees-McRae College in Banner-Elk, N.C., is the recipient of the Outstanding Student Government Officer award.

The honor is presented to a student who exhibits excellence in the role of student leader and in commitment to Lees-McRae College and its student body.

Mattox is the daughter of James and Nancy Mattox.
