Radford is 29-17, a school record for wins in a season.
Highlander sophomore Eric Harris (6-0) threw a complete game. He scattered eight hits, had four strikeouts and issued four walks.
Radford led 2-1 going to the bottom of the sixth inning. Third baseman Rob McCandless singled in a run, one of his three RBI in the game. Right fielder Donnie Fields followed with a two-run home run, the first of his career.
Liberty (20-23) rallied for two runs in the eighth, but Radford scored six in the last two innings. John Geggs had a three-run double in the eighth. Geggs had four hits and four RBI for the game. Denny Van Pelt went 4-for-4 and scored four runs.
Liberty will play today at 2:30 p.m. against the Winthrop/Maryland-Baltimore County winner. If Liberty wins, Radford will face Liberty for the championship at 6 p.m. If another team wins, Radford will play that team Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
Earlier Friday, sophomore Mark Walker pitched the first complete game of his career and was helped by six runs in the first two innings as Radford beat Winthrop, 10-3.
Walker (5-1) scattered nine hits for fifth-seeded Radford. His only trouble was in the eighth when fourth-seeded Winthrop (27-30) scored all its runs.
Radford was led by shortstop Tom Curran, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI. Designated hitter Brian Pardue had three RBI.
