OBIT OWEN, DORSIE LEE SR.

OWEN, Dorsie Lee Sr., 80, of Roanoke, died Thursday, May 20, 1993, in a local hospital. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hewitt Owen in July, 1984. Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Louise and Ray Sifers, Roanoke; a son and daughter-in-law, Dorsie L. Jr. and Edra Owen, Pulaski; four grandchildren, Tina Janney, Charles Lee King, both of Roanoke, Jeffrey King, Robert King Jr., both of Ohio; 14 great-grandchildren; a sister, Clyde Simpkins; and a special brother-in-law, Rady Simpkins, both of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from the Victory Baptist Church 1 p.m. Saturday, May 22, 1993, with the Rev. Dr. H. R. Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton Chapel.
