Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Carter Gayle of Richmond announce the engagement of their daughter, Deborah Renee, to Dr. Thorpe Clarke Whitehead, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Lee Whitehead of Moneta.

Miss Gayle graduated from Clover High School and attended Virginia Commonwealth University. She isemployed by the Martin Agency, Inc.

Dr. Whitehead graduated fromStaunton River High School, VirginiaMilitary Institute and the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry.

The wedding is planned for July 3, 1993, in Richmond.
