DODGE FINALIST FOR POST IN KANSAS

Montgomery County School Superintendent Harold Dodge has been picked as one of three finalists for the top school job in Blue Valley, Kan., a Kansas City suburb.

Dodge goes to Blue Valley today to interview for the superintendent's job in the 11,000-student school system.

Dodge will interview Friday for the superintendent's job in the 67,000-student Mobile, Ala., school system. Dodge is one of eight finalists in Mobile, four of whom are already employed in other jobs within the Mobile division.

Dodge will leave the Montgomery County superintendent's post June 30 after five years in the job. He will be succeeded by Herman Bartlett, a Carroll County native, who is superintendent in Colonial Heights.

The Montgomery County system has 8,500 students, 650 teachers and an annual budget of $42.3 million.

Dodge has been a finalist for other jobs in Virginia Beach, Florida and Texas over the past few years.
