Public works departments in both Blacksburg, Christiansburg and Radford cruised town streets and picked up storm debris left on the curb.
John Lemley, town manager for Christiansburg, said the cleanup effort will continue through the week.
"We'll do it until the job is done," he said.
All three localities are asking residents to cut debris into small pieces and place it onto the curb so that it can be recycled into mulch. Public works employees can't remove debris from private property.
Blacksburg will also continue to pick up tree limbs through the week.
Montgomery County's Board of Supervisors met Monday night and were scheduled to suspend tipping fees for any storm debris bought to the county dump.
Tipping fees are normally $25 a ton.
In Radford, Public Works Director James Hurt Jr. is asking residents who want debris taken from the curb to call 731-3602.
