OBIT LEMON, LOUISE KERN
LEMON, Louise Kern, 81, of Route 1, Lick Run, Eagle Rock, died Saturday,
June 12, 1993, at the Alleghany Regional Hospital. She was born November 27,
1911, in Clifton Forge, a daughter of the late Hattie Harris and John Jacob
Kern. She was a retired registered nurse at the Alleghany Regional Hospital,
and the retired owner and operator of Lemon's Store at Lick Run. She was a
member of Central United Methodist Church. Mrs. Lemon is survived by two
daughters, Joan L. Johnson of Winchester, and Gretchen L. Zans of Leesburg;
one son, Jack Lemon, Portland, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Kumm, Route 1,
Lick Run, Eagle Rock, and Mrs. C. A. Evelyn Marx of Elgin, Texas; nine
grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs.
Lemon was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Lemon, and a son, Robert
Conrad Lemon. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, 2 p.m. at
Mountain View Cemetery in Clifton Forge with the Rev. William O. Webster
officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends Tuesday
from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made
to the Clifton Forge Rescue Squad. Arrangements are being handled by Nicely
Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
