REPLACEMENTS NAMED FOR SCHWARZENEGGER

President Clinton has chosen Olympic track star Florence Griffith Joyner and former congressman and basketball star Tom McMillen to replace Arnold Schwarzenegger as co-chairmen of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

Action-movie star Schwarzenegger, a former bodybuilder and Republican campaigner appointed by President Bush, resigned last month.

Griffith Joyner blossomed into a superstar at the 1988 U.S. Olympic Trials, when she set a world record in the 100 meters.

McMillen was a member of the 1972 U.S. Olympic basketball team and played in the National Basketball Association for 11 years. A Democrat, he served in the House from Maryland from 1987 until this year. - Associated Press
