IN SERVICE

Marine Lance Cpl. ADAM W. STRICKLER, son of George J. and Brenda Finley of Elliston, has with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, Camp Pendleton, Calif., from six months in the western Pacific as part of the USS Tripoli Amphibious Ready Group. The unit participated in Operation Restore Hope in Somalia.

While in port, volunteers from the ship spent a day with 32 handicapped children from the Indian Ladies Association Special Care Center in Abu Dhabi. The center provides training for handicapped Asian children.

Navy Seaman GREGORY A. HARRIS, son of Sandra G. and James R. Harris Sr., Dublin, has joined the dock-landing ship USS Pensacola for a Mediterranean tour as part of the USS Saipan Amphibious Ready Group. he group will relieve the USS Guam Amphibious Ready Group in Operation Provide Promise in the Adriatic Sea. The group is comprised of 2,800 sailors and 2,200 Marines. The USS Pensacola is based at Little Creek Naval Amphibious Base, Virginia Beach.

Marine Lance Cpl. CHRISTOPHER E. LABIOSA, son of Frankie J. Spears, Newport, was promoted to his present rank with Marine Aviation Logistics Squadron 14, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing, Marine Corps Air Station, Cherry Point, N.C.
