ROANOKE STAR TEAM WINS MONTREAL TOURNAMENT

The Roanoke Star Under-15 Green boys' soccer team defeated Brossard Quebec 4-3 in a shootout to win the Laval Cup in Montreal.

Mike Jones was the leading scorer for Roanoke Star, with three goals, not including a penalty kick in the shootout. Allen Lawrence converted a penalty kick with 10 seconds left in regulation time to set up the shootout.

Hunter Balmer held Brossard without a goal in the shootout.
