Florence Byrd Stevenson, a retired educator, will open the Count Pulaski Bed and Breakfast in a restored 80-year-old home in the town's historic district at 821 N. Jefferson St.
Pulaski Town Council approved conditional use zoning for the facility in the R-2 residential zone Tuesday night, as recommended by the town Planning Commission.
"I feel this would be an asset to Pulaski. I would very much enjoy doing it," Stevenson told council. "I feel this could bring some business to Pulaski."
The 2 1/2-story brick-and-frame house will have three bedrooms and serve breakfast only. It contains furnishings from Stevenson's travels in Europe and Asia as well as family antiques.
Three off-street parking places will be provided on a side yard facing 9th Street.
The bedrooms have private baths, ceiling fans for summer and fireplaces for winter. Breakfasts can be served in a dining room, a porch overlooking a garden or in front of a fireplace.
Stevenson has had experience in operating bed and breakfast facilities. Double room rates will be $75, plus tax. Further information is available by calling 980-1163.
