FEDERAL COMMUTERS TO GET WAY STATIONS

Several proposed satellite offices for road-weary Washington commuters could be open as early as this fall, said Warren Master, the project direct for the so-called telecommuting centers for the U.S. General Services Administration.

"We're pretty confident that we will have the interim centers in Winchester, Virginia, and Charles County" for federal workers after Congress approves funding, he said.

Each site would have about 15 workstations to serve 30 to 40 employees. Centers would have computers, faxes, modems, telephone lines and other items connecting them to their Washington office.
