The first-ever agreement between the NAACP and a professional sports franchise was signed by Jerry and Mark Richardson of Richardson Sports and by Dr. Benjamin Chavis, the executive director of the NAACP. The plan would all but guarantee that the ownership group and stadium corporation maintain a 15 percent to 25 percent minority presence in their management ranks and a 20 percent level in non-management positions.
