"As far as we know everything is going as well as can be expected," said James Pharis, Daniel's son-in-law.
Daniel, 69, experienced a tight feeling in his chest two weeks ago while cutting his grass, said Town Manager John Lemley. Doctors conducted several tests, and the most recent test one on Tuesday detected blockage in his arteries.
"It was really sneaking up on him. Apparently, it was quite a bit of blockage," Lemley said.
Lemley said that he has received several calls about Daniel, who has been a Town Council member since September 1980.
"Truman is a very popular person, a well-thought-of person," Lemley said.
