OBIT-OAKES, MAMIE PARKER

OAKES, Mamie Parker, 90, of Vinton, died Wednesday, June 30, 1993. She was the widow of Arvie Anderson Oakes. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Billy Eugene and Eva B. Oakes, Rt. 1, Hardy; daughter and son-in-law, Garnett O. and Leslie (Red) Barton, Rt. 1, Hardy; five grandchildren, Maurice Oakes, Janet Marie Oakes, Richard E. Oakes, Terry L. Oakes, Beverly Welch, all of Hardy; also ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 2, 1993, from the Lotz Vinton Chapel. The Rev. John Riggs and the Rev. Clay Peters will officiate with burial to follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at Lotz Vinton Chapel.
