VIRGINIA BEACH - An investor group led by religious broadcaster Pat Robertson is negotiating to buy a controlling interest in American Film Technologies Inc., the nation's largest colorizer of black-and-white films.
American Film, which has added color to such films as "King Kong" and "Casablanca," said Wednesday it expects to complete an agreement soon for Robertson's group to buy a 52 percent stake for $4.7 million.
Robertson, founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network and chairman of the parent of cable television's The Family Channel, had no comment on the venture. Neither CBN nor The Family Channel parent is involved in the deal, officials said. - Associated Press
