OBIT-CRAWFORD, ARDALIAH SUE KANODE
CRAWFORD, Ardaliah Sue Kanode, 80, of Peterstown, W.Va., formerly of
Pembroke, Va., died Thursday, July 1, 1993, at her home. Born January 11,
1913, at Pembroke, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Nannie Hinchee
Kanode. Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church at
Lindside, W.Va. and worked as a telephone operator in Pembroke for several
years. She was a retired employee of the Hoechst Celanese Corporation. She was
preceded in death by two sisters, Audrey Virginia Kanode and Ruth Kanode
Marshall. Surviving are her husband, Clarence Crawford; one nephew, Don
Marshall and his wife, Rosemarie of Pembroke; two nieces, Loretta Marshall
Tickle and her husband, Lester of Pembroke; Carolyn Marshall Kessinger of
Pearisburg; four grandnieces, Pamela, Yvette, Yvonne, and Kim; four
grandnephews, Donnie, Dean, Jeffery, and Todd; three great-grandnieces,
Ashley, Kala, and Adriana; two great-grandnephews, Chris and Zachary; also
surviving are sisters-in-law, Lula Crawford Dillion of Peterstown, W.Va.,
Audrey Crawford of Washington, D.C.; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John
and Dorothy Crawford of Lindside; and many nephews and nieces. She is also
survived by many other relatives, friends, and neighbors that she loved.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, July 4, at Broyles Funeral Home Chapel
in Peterstown, W.Va., with Rev. Carl Edwards, Rev. Tommy Mounts, and Rev. Paul
Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Cemetery at Pearisburg.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Saturday, July 3, at Broyles Funeral Home in
Peterstown, W.Va.
