OBIT-RICHARDSON, GLADYS G.

RICHARDSON, Gladys G., 86, of Elliston, died Friday, July 2, 1993, in the Brookmeade Retirement Home. A lifelong resident of Montgomery County, she had taught in the Montgomery County Schools for 43 years. She was a member, from youth, of the First Church of God (Anderson, Ind.) and had held various offices through the years in the local congregation, including service on the Board of Trustees, a member of the Church Council, financial secretary. She also served as spiritual life director of the Women's Missionary society, teacher of the Adult Bible Sunday School class and served on various other committees. She was the widow of Erbie W. Richardson, and is survived by one sister, Dorothy Williams, Chesapeake; stepson, William Edward Richardson, Hardy; stepdaughter, Nancy Knodle, Hagerstown, Md.; six stepgrandchildren; and seven stepgreat-grandchildren; also several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 5, from the First Church of God, Canaan Road, Christiansburg, conducted by Rev. Ronald L. Mitchell with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home, Christiansburg.
