Patricia Gail Knapp and William Richard Lewis were married July 3, 1993,
aboard Virginia Dare with uncle of the bride, Rev. Perry S. Buckner, Jr.,
officiating. The reception was held aboard Virginia Dare, Smith Mountain Lake.
The maid of honor was Sandra Russell. Bridesmaid was Katherine Snodgrass,
niece of bride, and the flowergirl was Misty Knapp, niece of bride. Best man
was James Clifton Garlough. Usher was Richard Lewis, father of groom.
Ringbearer was Chad Snodgrass, nephew of bride. The bride wore her mother's
wedding gown of white Duchess satin trimmed with pearls and heirloom lace. Her
bridal veil, worn by her mother and grandmother at their weddings, was of
Brussels lace and fell from a wreath of orange blossoms and pearls. She
carried a bouquet of pink and white roses and baby's breath. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard S. Knapp, Jr., of Roanoke. She graduated from
Patrick Henry High School, Virginia Western Community College and the College
of Health Sciences. She is employed by Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley
and Medi-Home Health Agency. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard
Lewis of Moneta. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School, Pittsburgh,
Pa., and Steel Valley Institute, Pittsburgh, Pa. He is employed by Joe Bandy &
Sons, Roanoke. The newlyweds will live at Smith Mountain Lake, Moneta, after a
wedding trip to Sanibel Island, Florida.
