The bride is the daughter of SGMPhillip Turpin of Salem and BonnieTurpin of Roanoke. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ermine Mullins of Roanoke, Mrs. H. H. Turpin of Salem and the great-granddaughter of Essie Gordan, also of Roanoke.
The groom is the son of Col. and Mrs. Alex Okimoto of Tucson, Az. He is the grandson of Ruth Anderson of Severn, N.C. and Eileen Okimoto of Pearl City, Hi.
Miss Michele Turpin, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Amy Okimoto, sister of the groom; Traci Bunn, cousin of the bride; Traci Taylor and Penny McMurray, friends of the bride. Brittany Rhodes,special friend of the bride, served as the flower girl.
Lt. Benedicto Dichoso, friend of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Richard Okimoto, brother of the groom; Scott Bailey and Rich Michel, friends of the groom. Billy Mullins II, cousin of the bride, served as ringbearer. Bill Mullins, Sr., uncle of the bride, was the soloist. Tiffany Lawhorn, cousin of the bride, was the guestbook attendant. Mrs. Hurley Shortt served as coordinator & Carolyn Dixon as pianist. Teresa Spraker, Nancy Ferguson and Carol Lawhorn served as reception coordinators.
The bride holds a BA in Psychology from Roanoke College and is currently pursuing her BSN in Nursing at Radford University, Roanoke site.
The groom holds a BS in Finance from Virginia Tech. Following the wedding, he will be attending IOBC at Fort Benning, Ga. The couple will reside in Roanoke, Va.
