OBIT THOMAS, CHARLOTTE DAWN SLIGH

THOMAS, Charlotte Dawn Sligh, 68, of Big Island, died Saturday, July 3, 1993, at her residence. She was the wife of the late James Barrown Thomas. Born in Bedford County, May 15, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Elisha Sligh and the late Laura S. Sligh. Mrs. Thomas was a member of big Island Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Patsy Thomas Hardy, Bedford; one foster son, Russell Rice, Big Island; three sisters, Bessie Eckard, Bedford, Hazel McFadden, Glasgow, and Dorothy Coleman of Jarrett; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, in Big Island Cemetery by the Rev. Charles Edmonds. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at Whitten Park Ave. Chapel Sunday and at other times at the residence. Memorial contributions may be made to the Big Island Rescue Squad.
