WORRY ABOUT AMERICANS FIRST

I'M MAD, mad, mad. In a June 16 Associated Press news article ("AIDS becomes leading killer in many cities"), it was stated that AIDS in some places causes more deaths than cancer and heart disease. Now the HIV-infected Haitians are coming into the country, and also the smuggled Chinese. God only knows what they will bring in. Now the taxpayers have to furnish them a place to live, food, clothing, etc.

Also, in the paper it was stated that there may be 12 million children in this country going hungry.

It was sheer lunacy to send troops to guard the food being sent to the Somalians. Young men are losing their lives, and the people are turning on us. The United Nations' troops need to get out of there now and give the food that is going over there to the hungry in our own country.

And do not resume relations with Cuba and Vietnam, and quit sending billions to Russia.

Won't the United States ever learn? How can we police the rest of the world when we can't police our own country? IRENE GROVES ROANOKE
