GROGGINS WINS SCCA RACE

Flip Groggins of Fincastle drove an Oldsmobile Cutlass to his third national Sports Car Club of America win of the season Monday at Savannah, Ga.

He qualified second, took the lead on the third lap and was in front for the rest of the 23-lap race, which he won by seven seconds over David Vaughn of Taccao, Ga.

Groggins leads the GT-1 Southeast division with 36 points heading into the next race in Charlotte, N.C., on July 18.
