OBIT GRIMM, CLYDE ALLEN
GRIMM, Clyde Allen, 76, of Rt. 7, Box 476, Bedford, died Tuesday July 6,
1993, at Virginia Baptist Hospital in Lynchburg. He had been a resident of the
Waynesboro and Lyndhurst area and lived in the Bedford area for the last 20
years. He as born June 11, 1917, in Bath County, a son of the late William W.
and Lula (Loan) Grimm. He was a member of Bible Center Chapel in Bedford, and
was retired from Wilson Trucking Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World
War II, and was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart. He was also a member of
the Disabled American Veterans. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella
Hensley Grimm on June 26, 1993. He is survived by a son, Garland A. Grimm,
Vesuvius; two daughters, Mrs. Eddie (Jo Ann) Hewitt, Waynesboro, Ms. Debbie G.
St.Clair, Jacksonville, Fla.; two stepsons, Gene Brads and Vincent Brads, both
of Bedford; five stepdaughters, Maggie B. McFaddin, Stuarts Draft, Mary B.
Minnick, Edith B. Overstreet, Nancy B. Eastridge, and Phyllis B. House, all of
Bedford; three grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; three
great-stepgrandchildren; a brother, Winfred Grimm, Waynesboro; and two
sisters, Bertha Rupert, Lakeland, Fla., and Frances Sutton, Waynesboro. A
service will be held, 11 a.m. Friday, in the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Etter
Funeral Home by the Rev. Richard Dooley. Burial will be 2 p.m. Friday, at Holy
Land U.S.A. Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Donnie Grimm, Grover Hensley,
Marshall Hensley, David Hensley, Ezekiel Hensley, John Hensley, Leroy Hensley,
and Mose Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren and friends
attending the service. The family will receive friends from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Thursday in the funeral home and other times at the residence of Garland and
Linda Grimm, Woodland Dr., Vesuvius.
