OBIT IRVINE, NELLIE VANNESS

IRVINE, Nellie VanNess, 86, of Lexington, died Wednesday, July 7, 1993, at the Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. Mrs. Irvine was born on January 11, 1907, the daughter of the late J. W. VanNess and Mary Leanna Rhodenizer VanNess. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis D. Irvine and a grandchild, Michael T. Irvine. She was a member of the Spring Valley A.R.P. Church, Lexington. Mrs. Irvine is survived by six sons, Thomas D. Irvine, Crimora, Carl C. Irvine, Smithfield, Emmett R. Irvine, Lexington, David W. Irvine, Newport News, E. Clinton Irvine, Staunton, W. Roscoe Irvine, Raphine; one daughter, Pearl I. Thomas, Lexington; eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, July 9, 1993, at 2 p.m. from the graveside at the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens, Lexington, with Rev. Will Hamric officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
