OBIT PORTER, FRANCIS R. JR.

PORTER, Francis R. Jr., 87, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, July 7, 1993. Mr. Porter was preceded in death by his wife, Claudine Porter in 1988; and was retired from N & W Railroad. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Francis R. Porter III and wife, Yvonne W. Porter both of High Point, N.C.; one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis P. and J. Dennis Byrd of Roanoke; four grandchildren; Francis R. Porter IIII and wife, Amy of Rocky Mount, N.C., Susan E. Olinger and husband, Joe of Roanoke, Mark Fields and wife, Dawn of Vinton, Cathy Minnick and husband, Steve of Christiansburg; two great-grandchildren, Micheal R. Porter, and Brandi N. Fields. Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 10, 1993, at 10 a.m. at Evergreen Burial Park with Dr. George K. Bowers officiating. Friends may call at Lotz Roanoke Chapel.
